Tilted towards an end
Inclined by nature’s design
Predisposed to sway
If contortion can create
Then a strong will can shape things…

SCREW
TACK
NAIL

Screws, tacks, and nails, oh my!
In the workshop, they all do lie.
The screw got twisted and turned around,
The tack got stuck but didn’t make a sound.
And the nail, oh the nail, so strong and stout,
It held it all together without a doubt.

REMNANT
PIECE
RAG

The remnant piece of rag,
A symbol of strength and hope,
In Victoria’s hands it lay,
A testament to resilience.
Tattered and worn, yet cherished so,
It held memories of struggles,
But through it all, it stood tall,
A reminder of perseverance.

Drowning in sorrow
Wrapped in self-indulgent woe
Self-pity’s dark hold
Brings me down even lower
As I try to stay afloat…

Stretched to the limit
Pressure pulling tight and taut
Strained and stressed within
Pressed as hard as one can be
Any further, and I’ll snap…

Simmering, bubbling,
Creating comfort and delight,
Magic in one pot.

Tinkling joy, bright chime,
Celebration in the air,
Magic with each ring.

POTATO
TOMATO
PATCH

In a patch, a potato met a tomato,
Said the potato, “You red thing, you’re quite a hero!”
The tomato replied, “And you, my friend, are the best spud,
Together in this patch, we make the perfect dud!”

Precise, holding fast,
Stitching fabric and story,
Securing our world
Making some sense of it all
Can seem like a fool’s errand…

Nature’s sharp embrace,
Talons grasp with fierce control,
Survival’s strong hold
Grips quite tightly as they hunt
All hinges in their success…

Balancing act, light,
Softly touching the earth’s floor,
Dancers’ silent grace
Like swans in a glassy lake
Gentle movements as they glide…

Swift motion, sure aim,
Grasping time and dreams with ease,
Victory in hand
In every step I take
Dreams become realities…

Notes intertwined tight,
Harmony in every strum,
Heartstrings resonate
Forming fragile melodies
And many delicate chords…

Digits reach and touch,
Graceful in their delicate dance,
Embracing life’s path.
Tracing the entire journey
From the start to the present…

ACCEPTANCE
REJECTION
DISAPPOINTED

In life’s winding road, we seek acceptance,
Hoping for love and inner peace,
But faced with rejection, we feel the sting,
Leaving us disappointed, searching for release.
