Navigating Darkness

Had therapy today,
Started off rough but ended better.
Black cloud that was hanging over my head
Not fully gone away but is less.
Obtained skills to help through the struggle.
I learned I need to let the negative thoughts float away.

Sometimes the path is dark and unclear,
But a glimmer of hope appears near.
Therapy brings light and a guiding hand,
Easing the burden, helping me stand.
The black cloud may linger, but I’ll find my way,
Learning to let the negative thoughts float away.

PRIVACY
SUBDUED
BLINDED

I was blinded by my pride,
That you were true to me, I couldn’t abide,
Now I am subdued since you have ruined my reputation,
I yearn for privacy, which I feel that I will never have again.

Comrade and buddy,

Friend and confidant in one,

Pal for life’s journey.

Helps with your rougher times

And the blissful times as well…

Feelings

Daily writing prompt
How are you feeling right now?

I decided to wait until the end of the day to answer this question because I wanted to see if my feelings changed throughout the day, but unfortunately, they did not. I have many different emotions running through me right now. I feel like I am hindering a friend instead of helping. I feel anger for something that happened earlier this week, which I thought I was over, but I am in a funk from that and everything I have been going through the last couple of weeks. It is a good thing that I have therapy tomorrow. I usually come out of it in a better place, and I need that right now.

Cursing in anger,

Expletive of frustration,

Goddamn it all now.

Son of a biscuit eater

Make harsh moments easier…

MANIC
CRAZY
CHAOS

Manic, crazy, chaos, oh my,

In this wild world, we’ll give it a try.

Embracing the frenzy, we’ll dance through the night,

Letting go of worries, feeling the delight.

SOLEMN
SULTRY
TERSE

I once trusted my brother so solemn and true,
But he took from me, and my trust he did eschew.
His sultry lies and sly deceit,
Left my heart heavy, my anger replete.
