The Weight of Care

Why am I the glue that holds us tight,
Keeping us close, day and night?
I’m tired now, my strength is low,
I need some care, it’s time to show.

I want someone to lift me high,
To hold my hand, to hear my sigh.
Just for a moment, a little while,
To see the world through a softer smile.

This weight I bear, it’s heavy too,
I long for comfort, I need it true.
So let me rest, let me be free,
And find a bit of care for me.
