Embracing Uniqueness

There once was a chubby young miss
Whose dream was pure bliss
To be popular and adored
By all those she adored
But unique she was, true as a kiss

Her laughter bubbled like a stream
Her kindness a radiant beam
But the girls at school
Were awfully cruel
Mocking her size, so mean

She tried to fit in, oh how she tried
But her uniqueness could not hide
Her love for books and art
Set her apart
But still, she yearned to be by their side

One day she decided no more
To change who she was at her core
With confidence and grace
She embraced her own space
And in that, she found so much more

For the boys and girls soon saw
Her true beauty, without flaw
Unafraid to be herself
She found a wealth
Of friends who loved her for all

Now the chubby girl who was once shy
Shines bright, reaching for the sky
Her uniqueness, her power
In every single hour
She’s popular, not just to comply

So remember, my dear, be true
To yourself, always be you
For your uniqueness is beauty
A gift, not a duty
Cherish it, let it shine through
