If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced. –Vincent Van Gogh

Chains of the Heart

Rescue me from all that hinders me,
From shadows that weigh heavy on my soul,
Cut through the thorns that bind so viciously,
To find the path that leads me to be whole.

Lift me above the tides of doubt and fear,
Where whispers of despair no longer reign,
In the light of hope, let my heart draw near,
To find the strength to rise beyond the pain.

Let the winds of change blow fiercely, unrestrained,
And shake the chains that keep my spirit down,
In the dawn of clarity, I’ve obtained,
The courage to reclaim my lost renown.

For in my heart, I’ll find a way to see,
The beauty in the struggle, and to be free.

Shadows of Control

Your three words today are:
CONTROL
NONE
TIME

In the dance of fleeting time,
We seek to grasp what feels sublime.
Yet in the quiet, we find our role,
For in the end, we have control—
Over none but moments passed,
In fleeting breaths, our joys amassed.

Windows of the Soul

The eyes are the window to the soul,
Guardians of secrets, they quietly unfold.
They speak without words, a language so pure,
In each gaze exchanged, our connections endure.

Stars in the twilight, shining so bright,
Whispers of dreams in the softest light.
So cherish the moments, let your gaze roam free,
For in those deep windows, true beauty we see.

A Silly Argument in a Row

Your three words today are:
ROW
ARGUMENT
SILLY

In a cozy café, four friends in a row,
Began a debate that started off slow.
They argued and bickered, oh what a sight,
Over who had the best secret cookie bite.

One claimed it was chocolate, another was nuts,
While one waved her hands, saying, “You’re all butts!”
They laughed and they shouted, it turned quite absurd,
A silly argument with barely a word.

So next time in cafés, if tensions arise,
Just remember to laugh, and share silly pies!

Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. –Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

A Christmas Delight

All the bells and whistles, shiny and bright,
Pretty little bows that sit on top of presents,
With ribbons so neat, and colors so pleasant,
All that is waiting for is the elves’ delight,
To press the buttons, so they can be sent,
On their merry way, with joy and sheer delight.

Sadness: Artwork and Poem

Sadness

Tears of pain

Not knowing what to do

To end the tears

Why can’t I be happy

Why was it taken away

What do I need to do

To feel the joy again.

Poetry

Adult Tantrums

Adult tantrums,
Tempered and wild,
Grown-ups acting like a child.
Frustrations unchecked,
Emotions untamed,
Rationality, completely drained.

Words thrown like daggers,
Actions fueled by rage,
A storm brewing on life’s stage.
But when the storm passes,
And the dust settles down,
Regret and shame, wearing a frown.

For in this moment,
We forget our age,
And unleash our inner rage.

So let’s take a breath,
And count to ten,
Before we lose ourselves again.
Adult tantrums,
Tempered they may be,
But the damage they cause, we’ll forever see.

There’s work to be done

Time to get at it

Dreams come true with work

Manifest, see it happen

It will all fall into place…
