Three Things Challenge #M952

ZOOM
ZERO
ZITHER

Zoom in close, a sight to see,
A zero turns to hero, full of glee.
With nimble fingers on the zither’s strings,
Melodies rise, and joy it brings.

Watch the transformation, bright and clear,
From nothing to something, a path sincere.
In every note, a tale unfolds,
Of courage and wonder, as the music holds.

Facing My Fears

Daily writing prompt
What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

The thing that I fear the most is being judged in anything that I do. It’s a silent anxiety that often holds me back from fully participating or expressing myself in various situations. This fear has been a part of me for as long as I can remember, lurking in the background and influencing my decisions.

I’ve been working on this with my therapist, and I can confidently say I’ve made significant progress. Through various techniques and exercises, I’ve learned to challenge the negative thoughts that arise when I feel the weight of potential judgment. I’ve started to understand that everyone has their insecurities, and most people are focused on their own lives rather than critiquing mine.

Despite this progress, I still encounter moments where this fear resurfaces. For instance, I might hesitate to share my ideas in a group discussion or avoid trying new activities because I’m concerned about how I will be perceived. It’s in these instances that I realize I still have a long way to go.

However, I’m committed to facing these fears head-on. I remind myself that every experience, whether successful or not, contributes to my growth. I’m learning to celebrate my progress instead of dwelling on setbacks, which allows me to confront my fear of judgment more confidently. Each small step I take helps diminish that fear, making room for personal growth and the joy of trying new things without the burden of others’ opinions weighing me down.

Ode to the Complainer

Daily writing prompt
What do you complain about the most?

Oh, this is an easy question for me. My friends can answer it right away. The thing that I complain about most is my coworker. I have written poems in the past, and I recently finished an ode poem that I am going to share.

Ode to the Complainer

In shadows cast by grumbling groves,
Where whispers dance on heavy air,
You, noble voice of discontent,
Speak truths that many would not dare.

From morning’s light to evening’s fall,
You raise a flag of earnest plight,
With every sigh, lament, and call,
You challenge wrongs, ignite the fight.

You see the cracks in polished walls,
The flaws in art that others praise,
In quiet corners, your heart stalls,
No superficial charm to amaze.

O brave complainer, fierce and bold,
You bear the weight of weary woes,
Your candid words, like threads of gold,
Unravel tales that silence sows.

For in your cries, a spark ignites,
A call to arms for truth and grace,
You pave the way for hopeful sights,
And shift the veil of narrow space.

Each grumble holds a lesson true,
A chance for change, a path to mend,
So let your voice ring loud and clear,
For in your words, the world transcends.

So here’s to you, the steadfast heart,
Whose echoes stir us from our ease,
In every sigh, you play your part,
A force of nature, strong and free.

For change begins with one brave soul,
And in your voice, the chorus swells,
O complainer, may your story roll,
A timeless tale the heart compels.

Sports

Daily writing prompt
What are your favorite sports to watch and play?

My favorite sport to play is swimming. Being in the water feels very refreshing, and I enjoy gliding through it. It’s a good workout and a nice way to relax.

When it comes to watching sports, I really like football. The thrill and the strategy are amazing, and I love watching it on TV. I get really caught up in the excitement of the games, especially during important matches. Overall, swimming and football are my top choices!

Fountain Whispers

A shy girl gave a cheeky wink,
While sipping her soda, I think.
With a giggle, she said,
“Join me, don’t dread,
Let’s chat by the fountain and sync!”

Eternal Light

Hope this is not false.
This love must be very real.
Devastation looms,
Stay with me through all the years,
Together, we’ll be so bright.

YEAR
YETI
YEAH

In snowy mountains, the yeti did cheer,
“This is my season, my moment is near!
With dreams of glory and speed on the way,
I’m set to conquer—yeah, it’s my day!

The bobsled awaits, my heart in a whirl,
I’ll race to the finish, let my powers unfurl.
Best of the best, I won’t let hope stray,
For the yeti believes—yeah, it’s my year, hooray!”
