That’s shy of its official winter temperature record of negative ninety degrees, observed on February 6, 1933, at the towns weather station.

Axl Rose said that the lyrics were inspired by a short story titled “Without You”, which was written by his friend, a journalist and occasional song collaborator Del James. This story tells the tale of a blues musician who tries to cope with a girlfriend who has committed suicide.
