The Great Sandwich Escape

I pressed a giant button
labeled activate—
and suddenly my sandwich
stood up straight and walked away.

It saluted me politely,
said, “Thanks, pal, but I’m late,”
then jogged off down the hallway
at a very sandwich‑y rate.

“It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”— Sylvester Stallone in Rocky Balboa

Adam Rainer knew what life was like as both a little person and a giant. Rainer was reportedly four feet, six inches at age eighteen. Thanks to a pituitary gland disorder, he grew three inches a year from twenty-one to thirty-one and beyond, eventually topping out at seven feet, eight inches.

Echoes of the Infinite

https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2026/06/29/descendant/

I was born from the hush
between ticking seconds,
a ripple in the river
that never stops moving.

I am a descendant of time,
carrying centuries in my bones,
stories folded into silence,
dreams that outlived their tellers.

Every choice I make
is a conversation with eternity,
a reminder that I am both
moment and memory,
seed and echo.

I walk forward,
not to escape the past,
but to honor it —
to become the bridge
between what was
and what will be.

Catwalk

https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2026/06/18/catwalk/

On the catwalk of my confidence

I strut like I own the sun—

hips swinging, doubts shrinking,

every step a quiet “I’ve won.”

The world watches,

but I walk for me—

a runway stitched from courage,

lined with audacity.

Poetry

Waves Breaking

Waves breaking,
stopping breath and thought.
Every worry drifts away.
Now is the time—
seize the moment.
Freedom.

Strange

https://thedailyspur.wordpress.com/2026/06/15/strange/

Strange is just the name we give

to things we haven’t learned to love yet.

The unfamiliar,

the crooked,

the beautifully off‑center—

all waiting patiently

for us to understand

they were never wrong,

just different.

Advocate for Ourselves

https://thedailyspur.wordpress.com/2026/06/29/advocate/

We learn, slowly,
that our voice is not a burden
but a bridge.

We feel the quiet urge
to stand up for our needs,
even when our hands shake.

Being our own advocate
isn’t loud or perfect —
it’s choosing ourselves
in small, steady ways.

It’s saying this matters,
even when others don’t see it.
It’s honoring our truth,
and letting it guide us home.

Poetry

Criss- Cross

Life loves to criss‑cross—

paths tangling,

timelines looping,

people weaving in and out

like threads with their own agenda.

Some crossings feel like fate,

some like accidents,

but all of them

change the pattern.

Rich

http://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/07/15/writing-prompts-123/

Money isn’t what makes you rich;
Its shine fades fast, its promise thin.
There are treasures life quietly gives
That have nothing to do with coin.

A laugh that lifts you,
A friend who stays,
A morning that feels gentle—
These are the riches that last.

For wealth is woven in moments,
In love, in peace, in being seen.
And when your heart is full of these,
You’re richer than you’ve ever been.

Poetry

Cindy’s Quest for Adventure

Cindy the cat was feeling quite bored,
Not a thing in the house could be adored.
The ball of yarn sat, untouched on the floor,
No games or fun, she just wanted more.

With a flick of her tail and a sigh so deep,
She longed for adventure, for dreams in her sleep.
But there in her world, with nothing to do,
She waited for magic to come into view.

Balance

https://thedailyspur.wordpress.com/2026/06/09/balance/

It is a balancing act between
what I give and what I keep,
between the noise that fills my days
and the quiet I need to sleep.

Between the person I am becoming
and the one I used to be—
a careful dance of holding on
and learning to set things free.

Claim It

The
Sea
Crashing
All around
Peace waiting for you
All you must do is claim it

Challenge, Poetry

Where it Belongs

Keep your nose where it belongs.

Tend to your own shadows,

and leave mine alone.

Some paths aren’t meant for sniffing,

some stories aren’t yours to know—

curiosity is harmless

until it wanders where it shouldn’t go.

Poetry

Birthday

Balloons and cakes all around,
In laughter and joy, friends are found.
Radiant smiles, the day feels right,
Time for wishes, a magical night.
Happy memories that we create,
Dreams celebrated, it’s never too late.
A special day just for you,
Years to cherish, and blessings too!
