Overcoming Fears

What fears have you overcome and how?

I struggle with social interactions and the fear of being judged by others. To overcome this, I gradually exposed myself to social situations, focusing on listening and asking questions to alleviate the pressure of being the center of attention. I also worked on building my self-confidence by reminding myself of my strengths and accomplishments. Additionally, I decided to seek professional help to gain more insights and strategies for dealing with social anxiety. There are times to this day that I still struggled with this but I have learned that it is okay.

As for my fear of spiders, I gradually desensitized myself to them by learning more about them and observing them from a distance. This helped me realize that they are not as scary as they seem.

Value in friendship

What quality do you value most in a friend?

When it comes to friendships, there are countless qualities that we might appreciate in our friends. However, if I were to pinpoint the most important quality I value in a friend, it would have to be trustworthiness. Trust is the foundation of any strong and lasting friendship. You can rely on, confide in, and depend on a trustworthy friend during both good times and bad.

Trustworthiness encompasses honesty, reliability, and loyalty. A trustworthy friend tells you the truth, keeps their promises, and stands by you when you need them the most. Knowing that I can trust my friends ultimately allows me to be open and vulnerable with them, creating a deep sense of security within the friendship.

Before The Internet

Do you remember life before the internet?

I have vivid memories of the time before the Internet, a period that was truly unique and filled with its own set of challenges and rewards. Back then, when it came to working on our reports, the library was our primary source of information. The process of conducting research involved physically venturing to the library, poring over books, and meticulously searching through reference materials. It was a time-consuming yet deeply engaging experience that required dedication and patience.

On one hand, the absence of the Internet meant that we had to rely on fundamental skills such as using a dictionary and mastering the art of library research. These were valuable skills that we honed through the process of gathering information. However, the flip side of not having instant access to information was that tasks took much longer to complete. This necessitated a higher level of organization and planning to ensure that everything was well-structured and executed efficiently.

Life before the Internet was undoubtedly filled with its own set of merits and challenges, and looking back, it’s clear that it was a time that demanded a different kind of approach and mindset.

What am I Good At?

What are you good at?

What am I good at? That is a good question, and I often struggle with questions like that, but I will keep on going and answer the question. One of the things that I am good at is having patience when working with children, which is a good thing since I am a teacher. I have always believed that kids can learn while having fun, and I try to incorporate this when teaching kids. Another thing that I am good at, so I have been told, is drawing. I picked up drawing when I was going through a rough patch many years ago, and it helps me to relax and not worry as much. I find joy in expressing my creativity through various art forms.

Having it all

What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

Having it all to me means achieving a sense of fulfillment and contentment in various aspects of life. It’s about being happy and comfortable in my own skin, not letting others dictate how I feel or what I do. It also means being with someone who appreciates and supports me for who I am.

In terms of my career, having it all would involve a job that not only brings me happiness but also allows me to make a positive impact and difference in the world. I would love to encourage and inspire young minds, showing them that they are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. Additionally, being recognized and respected for the hard work and dedication I put into my job is also important.

Travel is another essential part of having it all for me. I want to explore and visit new places, immersing myself in different cultures and experiences. The idea of discovering new destinations excites me, and I believe it contributes to a well-rounded and fulfilling life.

Having it all to me is about finding a balance and satisfaction in all these areas of life. While it may be a lofty goal, I believe that with the right mindset and effort, it is attainable.

Collections

Do you have any collections?

Over the years, I’ve gathered quite a variety of collections. Right now, my favorite is my assortment of cover-ups. I have so many that I could wear a different one every day for two weeks! I love how they can instantly elevate an outfit, adding a splash of color or completely changing my look. My collection keeps growing because every time I’m at a store, I can’t resist searching for new ones to add to my fashion arsenal.

Cold Weather

How do you feel about cold weather?

The cold weather and I have a love-hate relationship. I’m drawn to the serene beauty it brings, especially when it blankets the landscape with snow. Engaging in winter activities like building snowmen and having snowball fights fills me with joy. However, the bitter coldness is something I could do without! Despite this, I’m grateful to live in California where the frigid temperatures are rare. If I ever long for a winter wonderland, a quick trip to the mountains can easily remedy that.

Home and Work Life

How do you balance work and home life?

I’ve been on a journey to find a healthy balance between my work and home life, and it’s been quite a challenge. There have been numerous times when my work has wormed on my personal time, not just physically but also mentally.

Around five to six years ago, I stumbled upon a newfound passion for drawing, and it has played a key role in helping me create a clear boundary between my work and personal life. I make it a point to set aside time at least once or twice a week to fully indulge in my drawing. Moreover, I’ve been actively working on prioritizing my personal life, and although it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, I can confidently say that I am much happier now compared to the past. I am dedicated to continuously refining this balance and to fostering both personal and professional growth

Sacrifices

What sacrifices have you made in life?

For a significant part of my life, I’ve felt that I’ve put aside my own happiness for the sake of others. I’ve come to realize that it’s essential for me to prioritize my own happiness in order to become the best version of myself. This realization has empowered me to make positive changes and take steps towards self-fulfillment. It’s not about being selfish, but rather about recognizing that I deserve to be happy and that by doing so, I can be a better, more positive influence on those around me. This shift in mindset has allowed me to pursue my passions and interests with renewed vigor and has ultimately led to a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose in my life.

Leader or Follower

Are you a leader or a follower?

At work, I see myself as a leader, capable of making tough decisions and confident in my abilities. I believe in taking charge and guiding my team to success. I have a natural inclination towards leadership and am comfortable in this role.

However, outside of work, I tend to be more of a follower. This tendency comes from my habit of trying to please everyone and avoid conflict. I’ve realized that this behavior has led me to neglect my own needs by saying yes to everything. I’m actively working on overcoming this people-pleasing tendency and learning to prioritize my well-being.

I’ve been making progress in putting my needs first and have seen positive growth in this area. While I’ve improved, I acknowledge that there’s always room for further development, and I’m committed to continuous improvement.

Daily Prompt- Fruits

List your top 5 favorite fruits.

An interesting question. I absolutely adore a wide variety of fruits, so it’s quite challenging for me to narrow down my top 5 favorites. Nevertheless, I’m definitely up for the challenge and will do my best to compile my top picks.

Strawberries

I have loved them since I was a little kid. I could never get enough of them. I love the sweet, juicy taste when you take a bite. They can be included in a lot of desserts, which makes them even better.

Blueberries

These have become a new favorite of mine. I had never tried them until recently because no one in my family likes them. They are absolutely delicious when they are sweet. Also, they taste good when frozen.

Kiwis

These are a rare treat for me since I am the only one that likes them. At first, I was wary of them, but after eating them, I enjoyed the uniqueness of them. I need to eat them more often.

Oranges

Oranges are delicious, even though they can be messy to eat. I usually like to cut them and then eat them, but sometimes I like to peel off the skin and eat them that way.

Grapes

I love the convenience of simply popping them in your mouth without having to worry about peeling or cutting. They also make a great snack when you’re in a hurry.

Honorable Mentions

Since I had so many to choose from I have a few that was close to my top five that I needed to mention them as well.

  1. Plums
  2. Canaloupes
  3. Bananas

Daily Prompt- Change

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?

This is a great question. The one small improvement I would make in my life would be to be more accepting of change. This is something I have been working on for years. Even though I have seen improvement, I still struggle with it at times. I need to remember that I will grow if I accept change and even though it might be tough at times, I will be a better person for it.
