Wishes Among the Stars

More than what’s counted.
Innumerable in mass,
Countless stars above.
Each one waiting for a wish
Sharing joy with everyone.

Nature’s Applause: Three Things Challenge #M912

POSE
FROZE
CLAP

In stillness we pose,
Beneath the watchful moon’s glow,
Time seems to have froze.
A heartbeat, then a loud clap—
Nature’s applause for the night.

COMPETE
CHALLENGE
POST

In silence where dreams are made,
It is on, a challenge laid.
With pen in hand, let’s start the run,
Now who will finish this poem first, fun?

Words move like shadows, quick and bright,
A mix of ideas that spark delight.
Each line a step in this journey we take,
As we chase the muse, both real and fake.

Let our thoughts soar, let our rhymes connect,
Dive into the well of what we reflect.
Time is ticking, the moment is here,
To share our feelings, loud and clear.

With courage and heart, let your art shine,
Together we write, our thoughts align.
So, share what you’ve crafted when your poem is done,
In this race of ideas, we all are one.

TRIGGER

There once was a fellow named Trigger,
Who danced with a drink and a jigger.
His lips full of cheer,
He laughed loud and clear,
As he twirled like a wild, carefree figure.

“More the Victim”

Music has a unique ability to connect with our emotions and provide solace during challenging times. For me, one song in particular has become a powerful anthem that speaks to my experiences at work: “More the Victim” by Linkin Park. The themes of feeling trapped, frustrated, and manipulated are all too familiar in my daily interactions, especially when dealing with a difficult coworker.

This colleague’s presence often creates a tense atmosphere, making it hard for me to share my ideas or feel confident in my contributions. At times, I even feel as if I’m being manipulated, which leads me to question my own abilities and what I bring to the table. The lyrics of “More the Victim” resonate with these emotions, offering a soundtrack to my struggles.

One aspect of the song that really stands out to me is its exploration of frustration and feeling unfairly criticized. There have been numerous occasions when my efforts have gone unnoticed, and I’ve found myself unjustly blamed for issues beyond my control. This has prompted me to reflect deeply on my role in the workplace and how I can better assert myself amidst the challenges.

The song’s powerful message about wanting to break free and reclaim control is particularly uplifting. It’s not just about overcoming negativity from that coworker; it’s about reclaiming my self-esteem and confidence. The repeated phrase about being “more the victim” serves as a stark reminder of how easy it can be to feel powerless. Yet, it also emphasizes my strength and ability to stand up for myself against such negativity.

Whenever I listen to “More the Victim,” I feel a surge of motivation to be stronger and more assertive. It reinforces the idea that I don’t have to let anyone dictate how I feel or how I perform at my job. The song inspires me to embrace my ideas and contributions more boldly, even when it feels daunting.

“More the Victim” by Linkin Park is more than just a song to me, it’s a source of inspiration that encourages me to fight against toxic influences in my work environment. It reminds me to focus on reclaiming my voice and ensuring that I make my mark, despite the obstacles I face. If you’re feeling similarly challenged, I encourage you to find that musical anthem that empowers you to rise above and assert your place in the world. Music, after all, is a powerful tool for self-expression and resilience. Take a listen below.

BRUTE
CUTE
FLUTE

Brutus the Brute Bear
Could play the flute,
With a melody so sweet,
Oh, how utterly cute!

He’d serenade the forest,
With notes that danced in the air,
Animals gathered around,
To listen without a care.

Squirrels would sway,
While the rabbits hopped in tune,
As Brutus played his heart out,
Beneath the glowing moon.

In every playful moment,
With joy that can’t be beat,
Brutus the Brute Bear,
Made the day feel complete.
