Instincts

Daily writing prompt
Do you trust your instincts?

I’ve been reflecting a lot on the importance of trusting my instincts. It’s something I’ve struggled with in the past, often second-guessing myself and relying too heavily on the opinions of others. However, I’ve noticed that I’ve made progress in this area.

I’ve started to pay more attention to my gut feelings and the subtle nudges I receive from within. It’s empowering to recognize that I have an intuition that can guide me through various situations. Each time I trust my instinct and it leads to a positive outcome, I feel a sense of accomplishment.

It’s not always easy, but I’ve learned to embrace the moments when I feel a strong pull toward a certain decision or choice. Acknowledging this growth makes me proud. Celebrating these small victories fuels my motivation to continue this journey of self-trust and confidence. The more I trust myself, the more I realize how much I have to offer and how capable I truly am.

Sweater

There once was a sweater, so cozy and bright,
It danced through the day and twinkled at night.
With stripes that were swirling and colors ablaze,
It twirled like a whirlwind, in a quirky craze.

expansion

Expansion is the name of the game
With more and more people,
Things need to grow,
In the heart of the city,
In the fields, in the flow.

Dreams reach for the sky,
Like branches that spread wide,
Connections we nurture,
With love as our guide.

New ideas bloom,
Like flowers in spring,
With each voice that joins,
A symphony to sing.

Change is the rhythm,
Progress our song,
Together we flourish,
Together we belong.

So, let’s rise up with hope,
Embrace what’s to come,
For in every expansion,
A brighter world’s begun.

CONCISE
PRECISE
PRECIOUS

In whispers soft, the thoughts align,
Concise, like stars that start to shine.
With every word, a world we trace,
Precisely, they dance with measured grace.

Moment’s fleeting, time’s gentle caress,
In memories held, we find what’s precious.
A fleeting spark, a treasure’s glow,
In lines of life, our stories flow.

Deficit

In shadows deep, a whisper calls,
The echo of a heart that stalls,
A quiet room, where dreams submit,
To the weight of loss, a silent deficit.

Yet in the dark, a spark ignites,
A flicker of hope in endless nights,
For every gap, a chance to fit,
To weave the light where shadows flit.

There once was a pony named Lou,
With a coat of a bright shade of blue.
He galloped with grace,
In a magical place,
Chasing rainbows and dreams, as they flew!

Stan’s Summer Serenade

Stan the silly man, quite a sight,
Stood by a fan, day and night.
Singing a weird tune,
In the heat of June,
Wearing just a thong, what a fright!

UPBEAT
LOWER
BELLOW

In a world that’s often upbeat,
I tripped over my own two feet,
I bellowed loud, “Oh dear, oh no!”
As I fell in a puddle, splashing so!

While splashing around, I couldn’t ignore,
The duck by the pond who quacked with uproar,
He pointed his wing, as if to say,
“Why lower your spirits on such a fine day?”

So I laughed at myself, embraced the scene,
Life’s funny mishaps are best to glean,
With a splash and a quack, I danced with glee,
In the puddle, I found my own jubilee!

Favorite Month

Daily writing prompt
What’s your favorite month of the year? Why?

June is my favorite month for three big reasons: the awesome weather, swimming, and my birthday. I love those warm days—perfect for soaking up nature and swimming in a pool or at the beach. Celebrating my birthday in June makes it even more memorable. The weather is nice, with morning clouds that clear up for sunny afternoons, and it’s not as hot as the sticky summer months. June feels like the kickoff to summer, and when I swim, I find amazing peace, letting go of stress. It’s a relaxing escape, and afterward, I feel refreshed. And of course, it’s my birthday month, which always excites me.

MESS

Tess’s Journey to Clarity

There once was a girl named Tess,

BIN
DUMPSTER
GARBAGE

Dance of the Refuse

In a town where the rubbish would pile,
A bin stood out, quite in style.
With a dumpster nearby,
And garbage piled high,
They all danced in the sun for a while.
