Sekenglif (feelings)

A perfect sphere surrounds us each day

It’s our reality of everything we see

A myriad of emotions, are at play

And many affect both you and me

Outside the sphere, feelings abound

And each its own unique face

Happiness, sadness, and others are found

Surrounding people of every race

Which we choose or rather chooses us

We often have very little choice

Confronting our feelings is a must

When talking in our inner voice

We might as well roll with it all

There’s no need to lose control

Feelings, inside of us rise and fall

Learn to ride the ebb and flow

So how do we deal with all these thoughts

How do we gain an upper hand

Dealing with the past, you’ve wrought

Helps you draw boundaries in the sand

Then one day, you create a space

Between what you see and what you feel

Putting self-control in place

Preventing overreaction, a bad way to deal

So as the realities challenge with strife

Remember, you are in control

Of your reality and your life

Don’t let your feelings take a toll…

Weekend Writing Prompt #380 – Auction

At the auction, dreams are sold to the highest bid,
Where hopes and desires are on display, carefully hidden.
Eager hands wave, eyes alight with anticipation,
As treasures change hands in a whirl of fascination.
Bidding wars ignite, passions roaring with might,
As fortunes shift under the auction’s enigmatic light.
Amidst the enthusiasm, remember this crucial plea,
True riches are found within, not under the auction’s decree.
As treasures change hands in a whirl of fascination and delight.

Get to Know You #33
  1. Which Harry Potter house would the sorting hat most likely put you in?
    • So, I took a quiz and it said I belong in Hufflepuff, and I totally agree with that.
  2. What would you consider to be your weirdest quality?
    • I’m really good at untangling knots in necklaces and other knotted items.
  3. If you could change the end to any movie, what would you choose?
    • I would change the end of “Titanic” so that Jack and Rose both survive, find a way to escape the sinking ship together, and live a long and happy life.

Abby’s Adventure

—-

Abby the adventurer

Busily bumbling along

Curious looking for an adventure

Daring to try new things

Even questioning her elders

Forever getting into mischief

Going whatever strikes her fancy

Hurling into whatever she does

Itching to have some fun

Just waiting for the right one to come along

Knowing that it might not be easy but is better than

Laying around doing nothing all day

Monkeying around

Never staying in one place

Open to new ideas

Pondering if she should

Quit

Resilient to continue

Suddenly to her surprise, a

Tantalizing adventure awaits

Under the swings

Venturing slowly

Weighing in her mind, if

X-ray vision is needed

Yahoo she is close

Zoom off she went

Okay

Daily writing prompt
If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

The word “okay” has become a default response in many of my conversations, often used as a quick and convenient answer to the “how are you?” question. It’s a way to avoid delving into deeper feelings or thoughts. As I continue to work on reducing my use of this word, I’ll remember that it’s okay to share my real feelings and experiences, even if they’re not always positive. This can create opportunities for authentic conversations and deeper connections with those around me.
