Ernie Hudson, known for his role as Winston in the original Ghostbusters (1984), auditioned to voice his character in the animated series The Real Ghostbusters. However, the director felt that his voice didn’t match Winston’s enough, so the role was ultimately given to Arsenio Hall.

Dancing sprites abound

All basking in blinding light

Making day of night

Show the way for those in need

Let them guide you to greatness…

Love Will Always Win

Special thanks to my collaborator on this Rengay, Anthony, mylovexpressionsblog.wordpress.com

Hate will never win

As love undoes all its sins

Knowing that, we grin

Together we will begin

In our hearts, love grows within…

Caution

I have been told that I have a lot of patience
But even if I do, there is only so much I can take
So, take caution with your words and actions
For even the patient have their limits, make no mistake

Billy Joel – Uptown Girl

Last week we had Pondering Existential Thoughts where the theme was to find a song that makes you think about life. This week the theme is to find a song that that gets stuck in your head.

I have many songs that get stuck in my head and this is the one song that no matter if I hear the whole song or just a piece of it I have it in my head for days.

Uptown girl
She’s been living in her uptown world
I bet she never had a backstreet guy
I bet her momma never told her why

I’m gonna try for an uptown girl (uptown girl)
She’s been living in her white-bread world (white-bread world)
As long as anyone with hot blood can (hot blood can)
And now, she’s looking for a downtown man (downtown man)
That’s what I am

And when she knows
What she wants from her time (from her time)
And when she wakes up (she wakes up)
And makes up her mind

She’ll see I’m not so tough
Just because I’m in love with an uptown girl (uptown girl)
You know I’ve seen her in her uptown world (uptown world)
She’s getting tired of her high-class toys (high-class toys)
And all her presents from her uptown boys (uptown boys)
She’s got a choice

Oh, oh-oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh-oh

Uptown girl
You know I can’t afford to buy her pearls
But maybe someday when my ship comes in
She’ll understand what kind of guy I’ve been (I’ve been)
And then, I’ll win

And when she’s walking
She’s looking so fine
And when she’s talking
She’ll say that she’s mine

She’ll say I’m not so tough (she’s wrong)
Just because I’m in love with an uptown girl
She’s been living in her white-bread world
As long as anyone with hot blood can
And now, she’s looking for a downtown man
That’s what I am

Oh, oh-oh-oh
Oh, oh-oh-oh

Uptown girl (going uptown)
She’s my uptown girl (going uptown)
Don’t you know I’m in love with an uptown girl? (Going uptown)
My uptown girl (she’s my uptown girl, going uptown)

Don’t you know I’m in love with an uptown girl? (Going uptown)
My uptown girl (she’s my uptown girl, going uptown)
Don’t you know I’m in love with an uptown girl? (Going uptown)
My uptown girl (she’s my uptown girl, going uptown)
(Don’t you know I’m in love) with an uptown girl? (Going uptown)
My uptown girl (she’s my uptown girl, going uptown)

Poetry, Three Things Challenge

Rely On You

Your final three words this week are:
RELY
REBEL
RESENT

I used to rely on you,
Maybe that is what made you resent me,
And caused you to rebel—
But I’m still standing in the quiet aftermath,
Sorting through the echoes of what we were,
Learning how to breathe without your shadow,
And teaching my heart not to flinch
At the memory of your leaving.

Alexander the Great passed away unexpectedly at thirty-two years old after a mysterious illness that lasted two weeks. However, several accounts claim that his body exhibited no signs of decay even six days post-mortem. One theory posits that he may not have been dead during that time and instead could have suffered from Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune condition that can lead to progressive paralysis.

In A Garden

In a garden so green and so calm,
Where the flowers released their sweet balm,
The bees buzzed a tune,
‘Neath the light of the moon,
And the night’s gentle breeze brought a charm.

The Shape of Togetherness

Coming together in harmony
Is truly what we need to prosper.
Collaborating to achieve
the greatest goals for us.
Together we rise,
stronger each day,
hand in hand,
moving
forward.

Compromise

We need to compromise for a change to happen—
not someday, not later,
but now,
before stubbornness cements the ground
we’re trying to grow from,
before silence becomes the only thing
we have left to share.
