Quote for December 22,2025

“Someone will declare, ‘I am the leader!’ and expect everyone to get in line and follow him or her to the gates of heaven or hell. My experience is that it doesn’t happen that way. Others follow you based on the quality of your actions rather than the magnitude of your declarations.” ―Bill Walsh

Pugs

They might look like slugs
but they are actually pugs
With squishy faces and curly tails,
They play and bark, wagging their trails

Frosty windows hide

Much of the daylight outside

Less shadows inside

Keep negative thoughts away

Focus on good, not the bad

Quote for December 20, 2025

“The battles that count aren’t the ones for gold medals. The struggles within yourself—the invisible, inevitable battles inside all of us—that’s where it’s at.” —Jesse Owens

Poetry

Allow Me

Allow me
to be myself,

Allow me
to have fun,

Allow me
to grow,

Allow me
to make mistakes,

Allow me
to shine in my own way,

Allow me
to find my voice,

Allow me
to chase my dreams,

Allow me
to explore the unknown,

Allow me
to embrace the bold,

Allow me
to dance to my own rhythm,

Allow me
to love deeply and freely,

Allow me
to be proud of who I am,

Allow me
to live fully, with a heart wide open and a spirit unbound.

Poetry

Seeing Red

Seeing red
Anger builds inside
Boiling to a point
Where reason takes a ride.

Fury ignites the air,
Like flames that dance and sway,
Words sharp as daggers fly,
In the heat of disarray.

But beneath the stormy clouds,
A flicker of calm resides,
A choice to turn the tide,
And let compassion guide.

So take a breath, release the strain,
Let the tempest fade away,
For in the quiet aftermath,
We find peace to light the day.

Challenges, Poetry

So I sit here and reflect

I sit here and reflect,
We used to be close,
Will we ever get that back?
Only time will tell, I suppose.

Memories linger like whispers in the air,
Laughter shared, secrets bare,
But distance grows with every day,
Will the path to you fade away?

I think of the moments, the dreams we spun,
The light-hearted jokes, the races we’d run.
Yet shadows creep in, doubt starts to swell,
In the silence between us, a story we can’t tell.

But hope lies dormant, waiting for its cue,
Like the dawn that breaks after the night’s dark hue.
Perhaps one day we’ll find our way,
And rediscover the bond that time can’t fray.

So I sit here and reflect,
With a heart full of wishes, a soul to connect,
For though life may twist like a winding road,
I’ll hold onto your memory, like a precious ode.

Deserved love

We all must be loved

Sometime within all our lives

In the very least.

Kindness and warmth we seek here

Embracing love we find peace
