FOWC – A Farewell to My Old Self

On April 3rd, Fandango challenge us to use the word Farewell in any way that inspired us. Check out the site here.

Here is my try.

Farewell, my old self, it’s time to part,
You’ve been my companion, close to my heart.
Through every high and every low,
You’ve shaped my journey, helped me grow.

Though I’m moving on to find my way,
I’ll cherish the memories, come what may.
You’re a part of me, forever will be,
Farewell, dear self, I’m setting you free.

Books Worth Re-Reading

Daily writing prompt
What book could you read over and over again?

One book I could read again and again is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It’s a story about finding your dreams and what you want. I also really like “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. It teaches important lessons about kindness and understanding others. There are many more that I can read over again; these are just a few.

Poetry

Breaking Free

Why am I so shy,
Always have been,
Need to socialize with others,
But it’s hard to begin.

I watch from afar,
As friends laugh and play,
Wishing I could join,
But my words fade away.

A smile, a wave,
That’s a start, I know,
Step by step I’ll try,
To let my true self show.

In time I might find,
A way to break free,
To share my own laughter,
And just be me.

Luna Lovegood

Daily writing prompt
If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

If I could be a character from a book or film, I would choose Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series. I admire her for her uniqueness and the way she embraces being different. Luna is incredibly open-minded and tends to see the world in a magical and whimsical way, which I find inspiring. She doesn’t conform to societal expectations and is unapologetically herself, which is a lesson I think everyone could learn from. Plus, her loyalty to her friends and her bravery in the face of adversity make her a truly admirable character. Being Luna would mean seeing the extraordinary in everyday life and celebrating individuality
