How was your weekend? Cold, if you live here in the UK! Here’s an apt new limerick challenge for the start to this week:
SNOW
In winter, when snow starts to fall, It blankets the earth, covering all. With laughter and cheer, We build snowmen near, And sled down the hills with a call!

In silence where dreams are made, It is on, a challenge laid. With pen in hand, let’s start the run, Now who will finish this poem first, fun?
Words move like shadows, quick and bright, A mix of ideas that spark delight. Each line a step in this journey we take, As we chase the muse, both real and fake.
Let our thoughts soar, let our rhymes connect, Dive into the well of what we reflect. Time is ticking, the moment is here, To share our feelings, loud and clear.
With courage and heart, let your art shine, Together we write, our thoughts align. So, share what you’ve crafted when your poem is done, In this race of ideas, we all are one.

In the quiet places where shadows lie, Books are banned, but truth won’t die. History fades when we turn away, Let’s not lose the past today. Guardians of knowledge, take a stand, Protect the stories of our land. For in the light of words, we find, The power to shape what’s in our mind.

In moments when the world feels too much, I retreat from everyone’s touch. No calls, no texts, no words to say, I seek solitude to find my way.
I withdraw to my quiet space, Where I can find my peaceful place. Alone in my room, away from the crowd, I recharge my soul, and think aloud.
So if I don’t answer, please understand, I just need time to lend a helping hand. It’s not about you, it’s about me, Finding my balance, to once again be free.
From the outset of this friendship, I knew it was going to be special A bond so strong and true, it felt celestial Now I need to cherish and nurture it with care For your presence in my life is beyond compare
Now that you are in my life, I don’t know what I’d do If you were no longer with me, my world would be askew Your laughter, your kindness, light up my every day I’ll treasure our friendship in every single way
Hereditary is the word some fear For it carries the weight of the past A legacy of triumph or despair Passed down from generation to generation
It holds the power to shape our lives In ways we may not fully comprehend Yet within its grasp lies potential For growth, for change, for understanding
Embrace the hereditary with knowledge Seek to break the chains of negativity And pave the way for a brighter future Where hereditary holds promise, not fear
In the stillness of the night, memories gently reverberate, Through the corridors of time, they softly resonate, Echoes of laughter and tears intertwine, In the chambers of the heart, they enshrine, Timeless, bittersweet melody, forever innate. Amidst the silence, their whispers still resonate.

There once was a broom with a bristle It tried to flirt with a brush and whistle But the brush just sighed And said with some pride “I don’t sweep that way, dear broom, I’m not that fickle!”
