The Dancing Chicken: Laughing Along With A Limerick

There once was a chicken with eggs,
Who danced on her wobbly legs.
With a cluck and a twirl,
She made quite a whirl,
And made all the other birds beg!

ERUPT
FLINCH
FICKLE

When loud voices erupt, I flinch away,
In a storm of chaos, where shadows play.
The world spins wildly, emotions fickle,
Like whispered secrets that fade and trickle.

Yet beneath the thunder, a soft light glows,
A calm heart whispers through highs and lows.
I’ll find my footing, amidst the fray,
Learning to dance in life’s grand ballet.

Though voices may clash like a tempest’s call,
I’ll stand my ground, I won’t fear the fall.
For in the turmoil, there’s strength to be found,
In the silence that follows, my heart will rebound.

DRIVE
DODGE
ENRICH

Drive through the sunset,
Dodge the shadows of the past,
Enrich every mile,
Memories whisper softly,
Life’s journey unfolds like dreams.

Green with Envy

Green with envy,
I watch all the couples
out there sharing their love
on Valentine’s Day.

How I long for a chance
to share my love with someone,
yet things have not turned out
the way I had planned.

But still, I hold onto hope,
that one day soon, I’ll find,
a heart that beats in rhythm
with the dreams that fill my mind.

Until that day arrives,
I’ll cherish love in every form—
the friendships and the moments,
the warmth that keeps me warm.

For love will come in time,
a journey worth the wait.
And when it does arrive,
I’ll greet it with open gates.

BASIC
CAUSE
CLOT

In a world so basic, where logic is lost,
A big blue cause needs no weight, no cost.
A tiny clot danced with glee in the air,
Spinning and twirling without any care.

It turned into a jelly, all wobbly and bright,
Singing silly songs that brought pure delight.
So gather ’round, friends, let’s join in the fun,
For laughter and joy are for everyone!
In a basic world, let’s party till done!

The Whimsical Cat

In a land where the clouds danced so whimsical,
Lived a cat who was quite atypical.
With a hat on his head,
And a smile widespread,
He turned every day into a miracle!

ALLOW
AUDIT
BEND

In a kitchen where chaos was hard to mend,
Ned tried to bake cookies, but what a trend!
“Allow me some sugar!” he shouted with cheer,
While mixing so wildly, he spilled everywhere.

“I’ll audit this recipe!” he proclaimed with a grin,
But the cookies came out looking more like a sin.
Though lumpy and weird, they all took a bite,
And in laughter, they found that the cookies were alright!

Uncertain Goodbyes

Is it time,
to say goodbye?
Will this feeling go away if I do,
Or am I trying to pull away like before?

I need a sign to know.
I don’t want to damage
something by rash decisions.
Maybe I should talk to them
Would they understand?

Anxiety Poem

Voices speaking, but can’t decipher,
Heart beating rapidly.
Skin begins to itch, eyes scattering all around,
Need to find a way out.

The need to escape intensifies.
Feel the need to tear my skin with my nails,
to get rid of the itch.
Breathing coming in short pants, as things intensifies

Will this every end,
Or will it continue?
The urge to escape, to run,
Gets worse every second

Thoughts racing in my head,
Millions thoughts swirling around.
Fidgetiness has begun
Scratching myself to ease the worry

Then, a calm, soothing voice speaks my name.
Slowly, I turn my attention to the voice.
I look into their eyes, and I see understanding.
I begin to realize I am safe, and no harm will come.

Listen to him as he calms my soul,
Teaching me another strategy.
When complete,
I am whole again.

Shadows of February

In February’s gentle sway,
Lovers whisper sweet and near,
A heart-shaped shadow marks the day,
As I watch, consumed by fear.

Roses bloom in vibrant red,
Chocolates melt in warm embrace,
Yet here I sit with thoughts unsaid,
In this lonely, crowded space.

Laughter rings with sweet delight,
As envy whispers deep inside;
I ache for love both day and night,
While joy feels distant, nearly died.

Yet beneath this bitter view,
A flicker shines, faint but bright,
For every heart that breaks in two
Can find its path back to the light.

Three Things Challenge #M959

Your three words today are:
STAR
TEST
USE

The final test was drawing near,
I felt the weight, the surge of fear.
To ace this test, my only goal,
To shine brightly, to take control.

With all my willpower, I strive,
To make my dreams and hopes alive.
For in this moment, I will see,
The star of my life, it’s meant to be
