Social Anxiety

The thought of judgment, the fear of rejection
Keeps me locked in my own self-protection

I watch from afar, wishing I could be
A part of the laughter, the joy, the glee
But my mind plays tricks, telling me lies
That I’m not good enough, that I should hide

So I retreat back into my shell
Where it’s safe and quiet, away from the swell
Of people and noise, the chaos of life
Where my social anxiety cuts like a knife

But deep down inside, I know it’s not true
That I am worthy, just like you
So I’ll take a deep breath, and step out once more
Facing my fears, opening the door

To a world of possibilities, of connections and love
Where my social anxiety can’t hold me above
I’ll break free from its grip, and live my life
Out and about, without fear or strife.

WORRY

ANXIOUS

EMOTIONAL

Worry consumes like fog that’s here to stay,
Anxious thoughts won’t seem to go away.
Emotions running wild, hard to control,
But in the end, peace consoles the soul.

Favorite moments

Describe one of your favorite moments.

A few months ago, I had a truly memorable experience as a teacher. I encountered a shy girl who was hesitant to talk. Despite my efforts, she remained hesitant. However, during one of our sessions, she bravely decided to share her thoughts. Her willingness to participate brought a huge smile to my face, and my heart filled with joy. Witnessing her newfound confidence and her ability to engage with the material was truly remarkable. It was a beautiful moment to see her grow and gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

I created this piece on May 4th in honor of the ‘May the 4th be with you’ celebration, but I didn’t have the chance to finish it at the time. Now, I’m excited to announce that I’ve completed it and I’m overjoyed to share it with everyone. I put a lot of thought and effort into this, and I genuinely hope that you all like it.

HORRIFIC
MUNDANE
NORMAL

There once was a day so horrific,
Work conflicts made it quite specific,
But chatting with a friend,
On his book had no end,
Making the mundane truly terrific.

Notable things

What notable things happened today?

Today, the most notable thing that happened to me was that my coworker decided to take issue with some of the things I was doing, which made for an unpleasant day at work. Hence the sarcasm. I also spent much time talking with a great friend about publishing his book. Apart from that, it was just a typical day.

Sweetheart Tree- Poem and Artwork

Sweetheart Tree

Underneath the old oak’s shade,
Stands a tree where lovers strayed.
No name carved into its bark,
Just the echoes of hearts sparked.

In the dim glow of the screen,
I tap the keys, lost in a digital dream,
My tablet a window to worlds unseen,
Where words flow like a serene stream.

Say “Hi” Day

Say Hi Day is an annual holiday celebrated on June 11 in memory of Joseph Anthony Cinotti, a special needs teen who passed away at the age of 15. Cinotti consistently made it a practice to warmly greet everyone he encountered, and his positive and cheery disposition endeared him to his local community. I have written a poem to help celebrate

HI

Say Hi Day is a day of cheer
A day to spread the love and spread the cheer
It’s a day to smile and say hello
To friends and strangers, let your kindness show
It doesn’t take much, just a simple hello
To brighten someone’s day, to make their heart glow
A small gesture of kindness, a simple hi
Can make a difference, can lift someone high
On this day, let’s break the ice
Let’s put aside our differences, let’s be nice
Say hi to the old man sitting on the street
Say hi to the child with the dirty feet
Say hi to the neighbor you’ve never met
Say hi to the teacher you’ll never forget
Say hi to the barista who makes your coffee
Say hi to the stranger who looks a little lonely
A simple hi can start a conversation
It can bring people together, it can create a relation
It shows that you care, that you took the time
To acknowledge someone, to make them feel fine
So on this day, spread the hi’s
Spread the joy, the love, and the surprise
Say hi to everyone you meet
And make Say Hi Day a day that’s sweet.

An Elect Named Jack

There once was an elect named Jack
Who always seemed to be on the attack
But when he was caught
For a crime he thought he’d not
He was nothing but a suspect in fact
He swore up and down he was innocent
But the evidence was just too apparent
So they had to reject
His protests and deflect
As he was found guilty in the end
His supporters were shocked and dismayed
But the truth could no longer be swayed
For all his charm and wit
He was just a counterfeit
And his political career would soon fade
So beware of those who seek to elect
For they may have secrets they protect
Don’t be swayed by their words
Look deeper and observe
Or you may end up with a suspect to reject.

CROWD
CLOWN
CITRUS

Citrus Clown

In the center of the town,
There was a funny little clown,
With a citrus colored suit,
And a smile that was astute.
He performed for a massive crowd,
Making them laugh oh so loud,
With his silly jokes and tricks,
He had them all in hysterics.
He juggled lemons and limes,
Danced around like he had no time,
But the funniest part of all,
Was when he tripped, making everyone fall.
The crowd couldn’t stop laughing,
As the clown continued his acting,
He made faces and silly sounds,
On the stage, he was surely crowned.
But as he reached for a citrus fruit,
He accidentally dropped it, oh what a hoot,
The audience erupted in cheers,
As the clown pretended to shed tears.
With his orange hair and red nose,
He had the crowd on their toes,
Never had they laughed so much,
Thanks to this clown with a citrus touch.
So if you’re feeling down,
Just go and find this funny clown,
With his bright and zesty flair,
He’ll have you laughing without a care.

Artwork for Beauty’s Happy Thoughts

Poem by Anthony

Beauty’s Happy Thoughts – Anthony’s Crazy Love and Life Lessons in Empathy (wordpress.com)

—-

Beauty, stood alone, collecting her thoughts.

She collected them, safely storing each.

Not conflicted by her haves and have nots.

A happy contentment just in her reach.

Sweet feeling inside like a summer peach.

Her lived life thus far has been far from fair.

Now she floats through, almost lighter than air.

Filled with a strength she thought she’d never have.

Strolling down the boulevard with a flare.

A fulfilled life that she’d happily grab.
