Back to the Soulful 90s

What is your favorite genre of music?

I enjoy all types of music, but there’s something about 90s R&B that really captures my heart. The soulful vocals, the smooth melodies, and the heartfelt lyrics just speak to me. It’s music that’s timeless and always puts me in a good mood.

UPPER
CUP
CURSE

Silly Kitty

I once found an enchanted upper,
That turned my cat into a playful cur.
But when I drank from the mystical cup,
I accidentally cast a feline curse.

Now my kitty’s stuck in a silly spin,
Chasing tails with a mischievous grin.
I wish I could reverse this furry curse,
And return my pet to its normal purr.

Strong- A Poem

I may appear quite feeble and meek,
Yet I’m strong in my own unique physique.
While others lift weights heavy as a boulder,
I master the art of lifting a smaller folder.

My muscles may seem like noodles, it’s true,
But I’m a champion in my own debut.
I’ll lift a spoon and call it a feat,
While others struggle to lift their own seat.

Pathetic, feeble, weak they might say,
But I embrace it in my own quirky way.
In a world where strength is so overstated,
I’ll stick to my ways, never outdated.

Billy the Misunderstood Monster- A Poem

Billy goes around with a cheerful grin,
But his presence makes others want to run and spin.
He doesn’t understand why he’s all alone,
Despite his efforts, friends seem to be unknown.

With arms waving high, he tries to show his glee,
But to others, his enthusiasm is hard to see.
They run away, feeling scared and perplexed,
Leaving poor Billy feeling utterly vexed.

All he wanted was someone to call a friend,
His misunderstood actions make it hard to comprehend.
Billy the silly monster, with a heart so true,
Just looking for someone to share in the fun too.

Memorable Vegas Trip: Highs and Lows

Daily writing prompt
Describe your most memorable vacation.

When I was 21, I took a memorable trip to Las Vegas with my college friends. It was an exciting and eventful experience. One of the challenges I faced was getting blisters from all the walking, especially on the famous Vegas Strip. Despite the discomfort, I pushed through and made the most of my time there.

One of the highlights of the trip was attending the “Thunder From Down Under” show. It was a fun and memorable experience that definitely added some spice to the Vegas adventure.

To top it all off, I even had some luck at the casino and managed to win $200. It felt incredibly rewarding and added an extra thrill to the trip. Overall, my Vegas trip at 21 was filled with highs and lows, but it’s a journey I’ll always remember.

PATHETIC
FEEBLE
WEAK

Pathetic, feeble, weak I may seem,
But in my mind, I reign as supreme.
With muscles like noodles, and no strength to speak,
I’m a champion in the game of being unique.

I may lift a feather and call it a feat,
While others carry boulders down the street.
My feeble attempts at looking tough,
End up being laughably not so rough.

Pathetic, feeble, weak, they say with a grin,
But I embrace it all and take it on the chin.
For in my world, strength is overrated,
I’ll stick to being me, never outdated.

Authority over Myself

Daily writing prompt
On what subject(s) are you an authority?

Having control over yourself is really important for growing and becoming a better person. It means being able to make your own decisions, take responsibility for what you do, and stick to your personal goals and values. When you have control over yourself, you have the power to choose your own path, shape your future, and live by your principles.

Self-control also means being in charge of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. It’s about understanding what you’re good at, what you struggle with, and what you want to achieve, so you can make good decisions and take purposeful action. With self-control, you can stay true to who you are and resist pressure to be someone you’re not.

Having control over yourself also means being able to stay focused and keep going, even when things get tough. It’s about managing your impulses, staying on track, and pushing through challenges, even when things are hard. By being in control of yourself, you can work towards your goals and show resilience and strength along the way.

It also means being able to live your life in line with what matters to you. It lets you set realistic goals, focus on what’s important, and stick to your beliefs. With self-control, you can make choices that reflect your true desires, rather than just doing what others expect.

And when it comes to dealing with other people, having control over yourself means understanding your emotions and handling situations well. This helps you make good choices, communicate effectively, and have positive relationships with others. By being in control of yourself in your relationships, you can set boundaries, express your needs, and have healthy, respectful connections with others that celebrate who you are.

In the end, having control over yourself is an ongoing process that involves knowing yourself, being disciplined, and being independent. It lets you move through life with clarity, purpose, and honesty, helping you grow as a person. When you’re in control of yourself, you can live a life that’s true to who you are, make a positive impact on the world, and shape your own future.

Happy 4th of July: Artwork and Poem

On the 4th of July, all dressed in red, white, and blue,
We celebrate America, and all the fun things we can do.
We watch fireworks light up the sky,
And have a barbecue with burgers and apple pie.
We wave flags and march in a parade,
And spend time with family, not in the shade.
So, let’s cheer for the USA, our land so grand,
Happy 4th of July let’s give a hand!

THONG
THRONG
PONG

In a bustling city throng,
There danced a lone thong,
It bounced and pranced all along,
Singing a strange old song.

With a ping and a pong,
It captivated the throng,
Gathering a curious throng,
To join in the odd, merry song.

Dog Days of Summer: Artwork and Poem

The sun is really hot in the summer,
The air is thick, and the sky is bright.
The trees look beautiful with their leaves glowing,
Children have fun playing in the heat,
Everything feels happy and alive.

Let’s enjoy this time and appreciate every day,
Because summer is really special.

How do you express your gratitude?

I express my gratitude through kind words, acts of kindness, and by being there for others when they need support. It’s important to me that the people around me feel appreciated and supported, and I believe that showing gratitude is one of the best ways to make that happen.

INK
INNER
INTO

In the quiet of my inner space,
I dip my pen into the ink,
And bring to life a scene or face,
Drawing stories with each distinct link.
