Missy’s MAD Challenge #002!

Welcome to Missy’s MAD Challenge!

Every week, I will provide a creative prompt for you to express your imagination and creativity. You can respond with artwork, or any other creative medium inspired by the Prompt. There are no limitations on style, genre, or length. There is no deadline, so take your time to enjoy the process. Remember to tag your responses with MMC and #missysmadchallenge. You can leave your link in the comments if pingbacks don’t work. The creative Prompt is posted around 1 pm Pacific Time on Mondays. I am eagerly anticipating your responses and can’t wait to read them.

DIG
UNEARTH
INTER

Meg likes to dig,
She wants to unearth
the interlocking truths of the earth.
With shovel in hand,
She explores the land,
Uncovering stories buried deep,
A treasure trove for her to keep.
In soil and sand, she finds her mirth,
Meg likes to dig, unearth the earth.

My Shop

If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

If I were to open a shop, I would probably sell my artwork along with my friends’ writing.

SADDEN
MISPLACE
LOST

Sally was saddened, lost and forlorn,
Fearing her treasure was forever gone.
As tears threatened to fall, her heart in despair,
She searched high and low, her anguish to bear.

Placing her hands on the bed, a glimmer of hope,
To her surprise, her treasure was within scope.
Not lost, but misplaced, a joyous revelation,
Tears of happiness rolled, an end to her frustration.

SINGE
BURNT
ASHEN

I couldn’t think of a rhyme for “singe”
My brain is feeling a bit unhinged
I tried to be clever, I tried to be slick
But my poetic skills are feeling quite “burnt” and thick

I searched in my mind so bright and “ashen”
But found no good words, not even a dashin’
So I’ll end this poem with a clever quip
And hope that you liked it, with just a tiny blip.

CRISIS
DANGER
PERIL

In crisis, we find our strength anew
Through danger and peril, we push through
With courage and resolve, we shall prevail
And emerge from the depths, stronger without fail.

Frosty windows hide

Much of the daylight outside

Less shadows inside

Keep negative thoughts away

Focus on good, not the bad

Bright color essence

My world is technicolor

Blues, reds, and yellows

Vivid hues paint my story

In every shade, I find glory

Save Her

I can hear her screams

Punctuating the darkness

I think she needs help

In this night so deep and dark

There is hope for her, I feel

Juxtaposition

Opposes all the others

From their point of view

Arguing while suffering

Contrasting views must be heard

Remove shoes and socks

Then walk on the ground barefoot

The earth holds your feet

Feel the connection to earth

Nature’s energy flows deep

My life can’t be beat

I live in pineapple street

A pleasure to meet

The sun’s warmth on my head feels sweet,

Nature’s embrace is so complete

I Like…

His insecurity
His kindness
His creativity
His poems
His humor
His friendship
His dreams
His determination
His competitiveness
His eagerness
His loyalty
His generosity
His stubbornness
His empathy
His stories
His sensitivity
His uniqueness
His thoughtfulness
I like him for who he is
And not for what I think he should be.
