Winter Whimsy

How was your weekend? Cold, if you live here in the UK! Here’s an apt new limerick challenge for the start to this week:

SNOW

In winter, when snow starts to fall,
It blankets the earth, covering all.
With laughter and cheer,
We build snowmen near,
And sled down the hills with a call!

Share Your World: 25th November

Here are this week’s questions:

1. Do you like snow? I like snow in small increments, and luckily, I live somewhere where I can do that.
2. Did you build a snowman as a child and dress it with coal eyes, a carrot nose, etc.? When I was able to go to the mountains when there was snow, I did build a snowman, but I did not dress it up because the trips were last minute, and we didn’t bring snowman-building supplies, lol.
3. Did you have snowball fights? Yes, there was one time when my sister and brothers were old enough to indulge in a snowball fight.
4. Did you have a sleigh? Unfortunately, no, I do not.

Finding True Light

In busy halls where whispers play,
Popularity shines bright each day.
Smiles are masks, hiding some pain,
Hearts grow heavy under the fame.

We chase the glow, wanting to be seen,
But true worth is found in moments serene.
While others seek what fades away,
I’ll cherish the love that’s here to stay.

Amidst the glitter, I’ve come to see,
True light comes from inside me.
It’s in the bonds that feel so real,
That’s where my heart learns how to heal.

Ban

In the quiet places where shadows lie,
Books are banned, but truth won’t die.
History fades when we turn away,
Let’s not lose the past today.
Guardians of knowledge, take a stand,
Protect the stories of our land.
For in the light of words, we find,
The power to shape what’s in our mind.
