HUNK
DUNK
CHUNK

There was a hunk who loves to dunk
But every time he does, he takes a chunk
Out of the backboard with his might,
Sending the spectators into a fright.

CHORE
DUSTER
POLISH

Chores can be such a bore,
Not enough muster to use the duster,
Dishes piled high, sweeping the floor,
I’d rather be a dreamer than auster.

But duty calls, so I roll up my sleeves,
And tackle each task with a sigh,
Hoping that soon I’ll be free to believe,
In a world where chores can’t reach so high.

Let’s write a Rengay

Create the haikus today

Then we add two more

A Tanka is created

Joy when we work together

All my revere

Is not to be heard or seen

Within the sadness

In the silence, I still feel

Emotions concealed tightly

Moonlight wash o’er me

Dancing in your light I’m free

Brightness felt and seen

In the night, I feel serene

Underneath the stars so bright

John, Joan, or a Jane
Willy, Walter, or a Wayne
Some names on my brain
Thinking hard to ascertain
Searching for a name to gain

Parched in the desert

Spend a fortune for a drink

Of cold crisp water.

Gain insight of the unknown

but it was deep inside you

QOTD Skill

What skill would you like to learn?

I would like to learn to play the piano because I have always been drawn to the beautiful and versatile sound of the instrument. The piano has the ability to produce a wide range of tones and emotions, and I am fascinated by the idea of being able to create such expressive music with my own hands. I also believe that playing the piano would provide me with a creative outlet and a means of relaxation, as well as a way to connect with others through the universal language of music.

Share all your secrets

Only with the worthy ones

Or you’ll waste your breath

Trust in those who truly care

For they’ll keep your secrets safe

Bright greenish grasses

Sway in the wind like dances

Moving right to left.

Nature’s dance in the sunlight

Brings a sense of peace and calm.

Do more than survive

Embrace the fact you’re alive

Nothing to contrive.

Work hard to thrive, and show your

naysayers that they were wrong

Dance to your own beat

Be yourself to all you meet

Here or in the street

Do not take a seat, let life

Guide you to your destiny
