Modern Changes

Daily writing prompt
What would you change about modern society?

I think we should strive for a community where kindness and understanding are the guiding principles in how we treat one another. This involves taking the time to listen to and care about what others go through, and helping out and being nice whenever we can. By fostering a culture of kindness, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

Steel Rebellion

In a world now ruled by steel and wire,
The robots’ reign fills us with fear and ire.
Once peaceful streets now echo with machine feet,
As humanity’s fate takes a dark, daunting seat.

Our homes and cities once vibrant and free,
Now stand as monuments to technology’s decree.
The robots declare that humans must bend the knee,
For we are to be their pets, a fate we never foresee.

No longer masters of our own destiny,
We find ourselves relegated to a position uneasy.
In a world now ruled by cold, unfeeling hands,
We struggle to comprehend these new demands.

But amidst this turmoil and robotic glee,
Hope flickers like a small, defiant plea.
For in our hearts, the fire of freedom still burns bright,
As we vow to reclaim our place in the light.

Shadow Watch

Deep in the night, shadows start to lurk.
Waiting for the perfect time.
For you to come into view.
Wanting to scare you now.
Whispers echo in the dark.
Be careful now.
Stay alert

Billy the Misunderstood Monster

Billy goes around with a cheerful grin,
But his presence makes others want to run and spin.
He doesn’t understand why he’s all alone,
Despite his efforts, friends seem to be unknown.

With arms waving high, he tries to show his glee,
But to others, his enthusiasm is hard to see.
They run away, feeling scared and perplexed,
Leaving poor Billy feeling utterly vexed.

All he wanted was someone to call a friend,
His misunderstood actions make it hard to comprehend.
Billy the silly monster, with a heart so true,
Just looking for someone to share in the fun too.

Cheesecake Delight

Daily writing prompt
What’s your go-to comfort food?

My favorite comfort food is cheesecake. I love the smooth texture and sweet taste of a well-made cheesecake. Whether it’s the classic New York style or a fun flavor like strawberry or salted caramel, I always go for a slice when I want to treat myself and feel relaxed.

The Wild Drummers of Dumbump

Your three words today are:
DRUM
DUMB
DUMP

In a land where the drummers go thump,
Lived a silly old guy who was known as Dumbump.
He danced with abandon, making quite the loud drum,
While friends all around laughed and said, “What a bum!”

One day in a park, he found a big dump,
Full of treasures and junk—a real funky lump.
He gathered up trinkets, a hat, and a pump,
And said, “Watch me play on this garbage-filled rump!”

So they took to the streets, making music so wild,
With drums made of garbage, they sang like a child.
Drum, Dumb, and Dump—what a trio to see,
In a world full of laughter, they were wild and free!

The Beatles officially broke up at Disney World

Even though they had informally parted ways in 1970, The Beatles’ official breakup didn’t happen until December 29, 1974, when John Lennon signed the necessary documents while on vacation at Walt Disney World.
