Poetry, Word of the Day

Middle-Aged Reflections

In the middle-aged days, life starts to slow,
With wisdom and laughter in the moments we sow.

Dreams once so bright now have softened their glow,
Yet love and memories continue to grow.

We cherish the times, both the highs and the lows,
Finding joy in the journey, as our story flows.

With every grey hair, new stories unfold,
In the middle-aged chapter, life’s treasures are told.

Chef Jake’s Magical Pastries

There once was a chef named Jake,
Whose pastries would make the house shake.
With flour in the air,
And sweet scents everywhere,
He’d bake treats that no one could fake!

Challenges, Poetry

In the Glow of Phones

Here are this week’s prompts:

  1. Write a post inspired by the word phones.
  2. Write a post in exactly 12 sentences.

Silent whispers through the screen,
Connections made, yet unseen.
Fingers dance on glass so bright,
Worlds apart, we share the light.

Messages sent with just a tap,
Moments captured, the perfect snap.
Ringing echoes fill the air,
Voices linger, everywhere.

In the pocket, in our hands,
Life unfolds through text and plans.
Though we’re close, sometimes alone,
A heartbeat shared through our phones.

The Bacon Maestro

There once was a chef with great persona,
Whose breakfast would always win a zona.
With bacon so crisp,
And an aroma to whip,
He’d sizzle up joy with each bona!

Negativity

Originally posted on May 18, 2024

I wake up with a heavy heart,
Filled with thoughts that tear me apart.
Negativity clouds my mind,
Leaving no room for peace to find.

I see the world through a darkened lens,
Unable to see the beauty that transcends.
My thoughts are consumed by fear and doubt,
Leaving me feeling lost and without.

I try to shake off this heavy weight,
But it clings to me with relentless hate.
I long for the light to break through,
And lift me from this darkened view.

But for now, I must face the day,
With a mindset that leads me astray.
I know that I must find a way,
To break free from this negative sway.

So I’ll take a deep breath and try to see,
The good that surrounds and sets me free.
I’ll push through the darkness and find the light,
And banish this negativity from my sight.

New Feelings

Originally posted on May 25, 2024

I feel a stirring deep within,
A sensation I can’t quite define.
It’s like a whisper on the wind,
A feeling that is wholly mine.

I’ve never felt this way before,
This rush of emotions so new.
It’s like a wave crashing on the shore,
A feeling that is pure and true.

I’m lost in a sea of unknown,
But I’m not afraid to dive in.
For this feeling has truly shown,
That in this moment, I begin.

To feel things I never thought I could,
To experience life in a brand new light.
I embrace this feeling, as I should,
For it’s leading me to a future bright.

So I’ll cherish this feeling, hold it dear,
For it’s a gift that I never knew.
And as I navigate this uncharted sphere,
I’ll let it guide me, strong and true.

Weight of Vigilance

In your mind, you stay on guard,
A watchful heart, it feels so hard.
You’ve learned to trust no one at all,
But with this weight, you’re bound to fall.

Always ready, always wise,
Yet peace can fade, like distant skies.
To live in fear, it takes a toll,
When watching close, you lose your soul.

Whispers of Doubt

try

Molly tries to make some friends,
But the joy never lasts, it seems.
She wonders if something’s wrong,
Lost in thoughts and fading dreams.

Though many say it’s not her fault,
It’s hard to shake the heavy doubt.
Molly tries to find her way,
Hoping for warmth, a voice to shout.

Flowing Through Life

I have no rhyme or reason,
I’m just going with the flow.
The world spins in every season,
And I’m happy to just go slow.

The sun shines bright, the rain will fall,
Each moment brings a brand-new day.
I wander free, not bound at all,
Finding joy along the way.

With gentle winds, I’ll sail my dreams,
Through fields of gold and skies so blue.
Life is more than what it seems,
I’ll embrace the path that’s true.

The Quirky Landlord

In a flat that I love, I do rent,
But my landlord is quite an event.
With his quirky demands,
And his very odd plans,
He keeps me on my toes, that’s the bent!
