My Anxiety: Mr. Finster Artwork

Let me introduce Mr. Finster, aka my anxiety. He used to play a huge role in my life, but he has recently gotten smaller than before. I have learned that it is okay to have anxiety in your life as long as it doesn’t rule your life. For many years, that is what Mr. Finster did. With therapy and the right medication, things have been improving, and I will continue to work on strategies to make sure that he does not overrun my life again and learn how to become friends with my anxiety. The drawing was a mixture of two characters, one from a book and one from a TV show. Can anyone guess who they are?

Haunted House Part 2

I created this piece this year and I’m thrilled with how the ghost turned out! The colors of the house are among my finest work, and I absolutely love the facial expressions I captured here. Overall, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite haunted house drawings I’ve ever made!

Exploring the Unknown

What could you try for the first time?

I chose to answer this question with a poem to add some excitement, celebrating the beauty of words and their rhythm; poetry can turn simple thoughts into powerful expressions that touch our hearts. So, here it goes

Exploring the Unknown

What could I try for the first time,
To soar beyond the mountain’s climb?
A dance, a song, a brand new rhyme,
Or painting colors in a prime.

Perhaps a dish from a foreign land,
Or crafting art with your very own hand.
To travel far to a distant shore,
Or to learn a language, and so much more.

For life is a canvas, blank and wide,
With adventures waiting on every side.
So, take a step, and don’t delay,
Try something new, make your own way.

Candy Corn Artwork

Candy corn is one of my favorite candies, especially during Halloween when its bright colors bring joy and nostalgia. The yellow, orange, and white remind me of childhood memories of trick-or-treating. I wanted to draw a cute piece to add to my collection, capturing its playful charm as it stands out with a delightful simplicity that always makes me smile.

Anger – Artwork

I thought this one would be perfect to share today since it is the emotion I am feeling at this time. I love how the fire on his head came out. Back when I was coloring this, I was trying to go for a blended look with the flames, aiming to capture the fluidity and movement within them. I think that it came out really well, as the colors not only bring the flames to life but also mirror the tumultuous feelings inside me, creating a deeper connection to the artwork.

Ghost – Artwork

In October 2020, I went on a Halloween draw marathon, where this little diddy came in. I discovered this amazing experience on the YouTube channel Draw So Cute, and I fell in love with its charming tutorials and whimsical characters. The creator’s clear instructions made it easy to follow along, and I was completely absorbed in the process. After carefully following her directions, this is how mine turned out, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the final product. I love this one from start to finish; every detail adds to the overall joy it brings me.

Yoshi- Artwork

Yoshi is my all-time favorite character, so I had to draw him. When I started, I thought it would be difficult, but it looked really good, much better than I initially anticipated. I spent considerable time perfecting the details, capturing Yoshi’s playful spirit and vibrant colors. The only negative I would have to say about this experience is that I need to work on drawing hands and feet more effectively, as they often pose a challenge in my artwork. However, I do have to say that this is the best I have ever drawn hands and feet, and I’m proud of my progress in that area. So, it is a win-win; not only did I enjoy the creative process, but I also improved my skills along the way.

Favorite Hobby

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

I feel like I have already answered this one, but I will go ahead and answer it again. My all-time favorite hobby is to create art. It can be by drawing, collage, painting, or artistic expression. I find joy and fulfillment in bringing my imagination to life through art. Whether it’s a detailed sketch, a vibrant painting, or a mixed media creation, creating art allows me to explore my creativity and express myself in unique and meaningful ways.

Haunted House

It has been a while since I posted my art and/or drawings, and I am going to try to do more of them going forward. I drew this haunted house in 2021. I really enjoyed working on the intricate details of the house, like the crooked windows and the spooky ghost. Capturing the eerie atmosphere of a haunted house was a fun challenge.

100 Ghost

100 ghosts are haunting me

Not fifty, seventy-five, thirty, or three.

Each one takes up its own space

With different expressions upon their face

A snarky smirk or frown for a while

A look of anger or crooked smile

Why are they here what do they want

Can’t they find another to haunt

I’d ask them all but they don’t say

Why they never go away

I should hire a medium to take a look

Or tell me why they continue to spook

But the spiritual world is a closed book

And as a mortal I’m afraid to look

So I found my answer in the end

Rather than fight them, embrace them friends

As my logical conclusion is here

The ghosts all start to disappear

First smirky, fearful, then happy and mad

Next nervous, thoughtful, then silly and sad

Each ghostly apparition leaves

Taking along their gown and sleeves

As they’re gone I realize the key

Each of the ghosts was an aspect of me

Emotions can be scary but never fear

There’s a hundred feelings for everyone here.

So next time when adversity has you thrown

Think of those chalky friends and you won’t be alone.

Sekenglif (feelings)

A perfect sphere surrounds us each day

It’s our reality of everything we see

A myriad of emotions, are at play

And many affect both you and me

Outside the sphere, feelings abound

And each its own unique face

Happiness, sadness, and others are found

Surrounding people of every race

Which we choose or rather chooses us

We often have very little choice

Confronting our feelings is a must

When talking in our inner voice

We might as well roll with it all

There’s no need to lose control

Feelings, inside of us rise and fall

Learn to ride the ebb and flow

So how do we deal with all these thoughts

How do we gain an upper hand

Dealing with the past, you’ve wrought

Helps you draw boundaries in the sand

Then one day, you create a space

Between what you see and what you feel

Putting self-control in place

Preventing overreaction, a bad way to deal

So as the realities challenge with strife

Remember, you are in control

Of your reality and your life

Don’t let your feelings take a toll…

Artwork: Princess Peach and Yoshi

I haven’t posted any of my art in a while, so I decided to post this bad boy. I love how they came out, but I did make a few coloring errors which I will learn from. Despite the coloring errors, I’m proud of the overall outcome and I can’t wait to apply the lessons learned to my future projects.
