Books Worth Re-Reading

Daily writing prompt
What book could you read over and over again?

One book I could read again and again is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It’s a story about finding your dreams and what you want. I also really like “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. It teaches important lessons about kindness and understanding others. There are many more that I can read over again; these are just a few.

Breaking Free

Why am I so shy,
Always have been,
Need to socialize with others,
But it’s hard to begin.

I watch from afar,
As friends laugh and play,
Wishing I could join,
But my words fade away.

A smile, a wave,
That’s a start, I know,
Step by step I’ll try,
To let my true self show.

In time I might find,
A way to break free,
To share my own laughter,
And just be me.

Luna Lovegood

Daily writing prompt
If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

If I could be a character from a book or film, I would choose Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series. I admire her for her uniqueness and the way she embraces being different. Luna is incredibly open-minded and tends to see the world in a magical and whimsical way, which I find inspiring. She doesn’t conform to societal expectations and is unapologetically herself, which is a lesson I think everyone could learn from. Plus, her loyalty to her friends and her bravery in the face of adversity make her a truly admirable character. Being Luna would mean seeing the extraordinary in everyday life and celebrating individuality

Here’s mine

In twilight’s glow, her dreams debut,
A canvas whispered, colors anew.
With trembling heart, she boldly takes the stage,
Each note a story, a turning page.
Hope dances bright, as fears gently subdue.

The Enchanted Dance of Mindy and Tiny

Mindy and Tiny, two fairies so bright,
Danced under the moon’s gentle light.
With sparkles and cheer,
They spread joy far and near,
Their friendship a dazzling delight!

Pillars of Hope

I stand beneath the weight of stone and time,
a pyramid rising, majestic yet shy.
They say the ancients built with their blood,
a dowry of labor cast in sun-baked clay—
each brick a breath, a tale left to weave,
while shadows dance, they bury their sighs.

Every layer screams of sacrifice and longing.

Yet the summit remains just a ghost of hope,
billowing clouds trapped in a frame of despair,
waiting for eyes that no longer look up,
parked in the mundane, forgetting the climb.
Lungs full of dreams, yet we spin in the grind,
scaffolding our lives with remnants of fear,
fingernail scratches etched on the surface,
clowns to our stories, obscuring the truth.

Every layer screams of sacrifice and longing.

What if we chipped away at the stone of doubt?
With soft whispers, we could carve a new path,
embellishing each moment, weaving it tight
into pyramids of shared laughter and light.
Dude, we are builders, not just remnants of time—
let’s tear down the silence, rise to the sky.

Every layer screams of sacrifice and longing.

The Beauty of Simplicity: Embracing Life’s Small Joys in “Humble Daisy” by XTC

Have you ever listened to a song that makes you stop and appreciate the little things in life? “Humble Daisy” by XTC is one of the songs that speaks on that. It uses the daisy flower as a symbol of innocence and simplicity, reminding us of the beauty found in the small joys around us.

Daisies often represent purity, new beginnings, and the joy of childhood, which perfectly aligns with the song’s theme of embracing life’s simple and often overlooked aspects. Their bright, cheerful appearance uplifts our spirits and encourages us to find happiness in everyday moments.

I feel that the daisy in the song represents a carefree and simple existence. It encourages us to take a moment and enjoy the small pleasures in life. Whether it’s a sunny day or a quiet moment with a friend, these simple moments can bring happiness.

Take a listen and tell me what you think?
